Alekstra is expanding quickly and need to make significant additions to our team in Finland to support this growth. We are looking for a proven team-player to join the team who can assume the following role:

Description of Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for software development in several backend applications using different technologies in our core entity Ratemizer™. Job responsibilities include: designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining interfaces from scratch as readily as build upon and improve existing applications; Participate in development of next version of portals; Automate intelligent phone bill processes. The candidate will be part of future mobile virtual network operator team and report directly to Project Director.

Job Requirements

You are expected to have:
 • 1 to 5 years of hands-on programming experience in any popular programming language
 • Extensive knowledge of software development life cycle and continuous interest in software development practices and finding ways to improve code
 • Ability to work with a set of different technologies and languages including Java, Lua, PHP, Perl.
 • Have interest towards non-traditional technologies as well and have adaptable mindset to shift to new programming languages quickly without much training and be productive
 • Excellent problem solving, logic and analytical skills
 • Readiness to fit in small teams as well as work independently

We will consider these as additional advantages:
 • C/Java/Perl/PHP/Database technologies, exposure to Lua, Jasper, Pentaho and Liferay tools
 • Experience in web portals development, using open source, cloud based tools
 • Mobile application development experience on iOS/Android/Symbian
 • Agile, Scrum experience
 • Master level university degree in e.g. Technology, IT or equivalent
